As part of its evaluation process, BMR determined that the solar farm offered a strong return that was supported by Guatemala’s well-established and stable regulatory system. BMR navigated a complex and cooperative sales process that involved four owners across three legal jurisdictions.
IMSA Group, the leading producer and exporter of refined sugar in Guatemala, processes 6.5 million tons of sugarcane annually. It is also the largest private power producer in Guatemala, covering approximately 8 percent of the country’s total energy consumption with its power generation facilities.
