Gothenburg, 27 February 2025 – RES, the world’s largest independent renewable energy company, has successfully completed the sale of a fully ready-to-build 70MW/160MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Ånge, Sweden.
There are more than 8,100 major solar projects currently in the database, representing over 339 GWdc of capacity. There are over 1,250 major energy storage projects currently in the database, representing more than 97,000 MWh of capacity. The list shows that there are more than 178 GWdc of major solar projects currently operating.
It has 9.4GW of energy storage to its name with more than 225 energy storage projects scattered across the globe, operating in 47 markets. It also operates 24.1GW of AI-optimised renewables and storage, applied in some of the most demanding industrial applications.
Backed by $2 billion in private capital, the two-phase Eland Solar-plus-Storage Project is capable of supplying 7% of Los Angeles’s electricity. Combining 758 megawatts (MWdc) of solar with 300 MW/1,200 megawatt hours of energy storage, Eland can power the equivalent of more than 266,000 homes each year.
